Smash causes traffic chaos.

MORE traffic chaos ensued on Teesside's roads after a rush-hour accident involving two vehicles.

The smash, at about 4.30pm yesterday, created long tailbacks on the A66 as commuters struggled to get home.

Traffic heading out of Middlesbrough came to a standstill after the accident at the top of the Newport Bridge slip road.

The incident involved a truck and a green Renault Clio and led to delays of up to two hours as a lane became blocked.

The driver of the Clio escaped with minor injuries.
