Smarty in line for Haydock; RACING.
David O'Meara's eight-year-old could make a quick reappearance in the Group Three Timeform Jury Stakes at the Merseyside track following his conditions race victory at York last weekend.
"Smarty was brilliant on Saturday. He's in a Group Three at Haydock next Saturday. It might be a bit hot for him but we'll have a look around and see what's running," O'Meara said.
"There are a few other options, maybe one or two races in Ireland in July.
We'll see how he is. He's been fantastic for us."
Meanwhile trainer Elaine Burke expects former Everton and England striker Wayne Rooney's as-yet-unnamed new purchase to be in action fairly shortly.
The Manchester United footballer has bought a majority share in a Dutch Art two-year-old with his former team-mate and fellow racing enthusiast John O'Shea.
Rooney and his wife, Coleen, have not made the greatest start to their exploration into ownership with Cheshire trainer Tom Dascombe as their first runner, Pippy, finished last on his debut at Chester and their second, Tomway, has not done much better.
This colt was bought by Burke's husband and former trainer, Karl.
She said: "He's going to be named very soon. He'll be ready to run soon and he's a nice horse."
