Slovenian National Day marked.

On 28 June, the Slovenian Embassy in Skopje celebrated the Slovenian National Day. Around 500 people attended the reception, including ministers, ambassadors and other representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as representatives of the political, economic, scientific and cultural life. It has been 25 years since Slovenia declared independence, so this year's celebration was a jubilee one. For that reason, the Slovenian Embassy staged an architectural exhibition at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, showcasing the close relations and deep ties between Slovenia and Macedonia. The exhibition is re-evaluating the achievements of three Slovenian architectural practices, whose works in Skopje are urban landmarks. Those are the Macedonian Opera and Ballet designed by Biro 71, the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius designed by Marko Music, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences designed by Edvard Ravnikar. A special publication on these three architectural achievements has also been published.

As the term of the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Branko Rakovec, is slowly coming to an end, he used the reception to thank the representatives of state institutions in Macedonia for the good cooperation and his fellow ambassadors and other diplomats for being such good colleagues.
