Slashdot Owner Andover.Net Files for $49.6m IPO.

Andover.Net, owner of a network of Linux and open source resource sites that includes Slashdot, has filed for a proposed initial public offering of 4 million shares of its common stock. The price range will fall between $12 and $15, for an estimated value of $49.6m, according to Reuters. The offering is being underwritten by WR Hambrecht & Co LLC, Advest Inc and DLJ Direct through WR Hambrecht & Co's OpenIPO system. Only yesterday, Andover.Net received $10m in mezzanine financing from TA Associates of Boston, Massachusetts.
