Skyline Steel.

Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour officially opened the Skyline Steel Pipe Group facility near Yellow Creek Port in Tishomingo County, MS, on August 22 during a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new $17-million state-of-the-art steel processing facility manufactures rolled and welded pipe.

The facility currently employs /40 workers with 60 percent being highly ski]led metal trades positions. The company invested approximately $17 million in the facility to produce spiral welded steel pipe used primarily in heavy construction such as buildings, bridges and wharves.

Governor Barbour said to a group of nearly 250 guests and employees, "I applaud the commitment of Skyline Steel to Tishomingo County, Northeast Mississippi and the state as a whole as the company brings this new manufacturing plant on-line.

"These are good paying, skilled jobs in a growing industrial sector, illustrating again that Mississippi and its manufacturing partners can compete on a global stage. I am excited about the economic development potential that continues to blossom in Tishomingo County." (973) 783-8323,
