Sky chief announces Marquis partnership.

Yizhak Toledano, founder and CEO of Aventura-based Sky Development, Inc. has taken a partnership in the newly established Marquis Bank.

Holding a 9.9% interest in the financial institution, Toledano will sit on the Advisory Board of Directors, effective immediately. The first branch is scheduled to open in North Miami Beach this August.

"My interest stems from many years working in real estate, developing businesses and in the banking industry," said Toledano. "As an investor, I can assist with the demand for strong lending products in a trying market."

Marquis Bank specializes in private banking and small business loans including many businesses with less than $500,000 in annual sales with a focus on personal service. Loans will be geared to commercial real estate in the area. Marquis plans to grow up to $75 million in assets and $50 million in loans in its first year.

"As an Advisory Board Member of Marquis Bank, Mr. Toledano's professional experience, business contacts and continued support are vital in our business plan of growth and profitability," said Douglas Cutchens, president of Marquis Bank. The charter bank is comprised of general shareholders, Organizing Directors and Advisory Board of Directors with approximately 50 shareholders in total.

Organizing Directors include: Partner in Aventura law firm Fromberg, Perlow & Komik and former Aventura Mayor, Jeffrey Perlow; Sunny Isles Beach Mayor, Norman Edelcup; CEO of New York-based Blendheim Realty and local investor, Hillel Shohet; Managing partner in North Miami Beach law firm Feldman & Getz, Philip Feldman; North Miami Beach-based real estate developer, Jarret Gross; Miami-based attorney, Scott Rosenberg; Owner of Testa Financial Management in Pompano Beach, Joseph Testa; and Southwest Ranches-based attorney, Rose Walker-Williams.
