M2 EQUITYBITES-January 13, 2020--Skoda India to launch Vision IN concept SUV

Auto Business News - 13 January 2020

Skoda, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), is launching its locally developed Vision IN concept SUV in India on February 3.

The model is to compete with the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Kia Seltos. The Vision IN based SUV is likely to be launched in the first half of 2021.

The vehicle is based on the brand's heavily localised MQB AO IN modular architecture. It features a bolder and more upright front with the signature chrome-embellished Skoda grille and split projector headlights, a bumper that accommodates large air intakes, a three-slot skid plate and interiors with a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with modern connectivity features along with a virtual cockpit digital instrument console. It is likely to be available with two petrol engines, a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol.
