The New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) has selected the Unifier platform from Skire Inc, the provider of capital program, facilities, real estate and project portfolio management software said on Friday.

No financial details were disclosed.

Accrording to the company, the department chose Unifier for capital project management across its portfolio of client agency projects. The solution will integrate with DDC's existing IT systems and replace a group of outdated applications while supporting its workflow processes and performance measurement indicators.

The platform reduces the costs and disruption of purchasing hardware, upgrading software and supporting multiple desktop applications. It also integrates with the department's Microsoft SQL database environment and will be accessible to 300 users through a web interface. Workflows can be configured to match DDC's existing processes without requiring specialised programming, which also reduces cost.
