The Purgatory Ski Touring Center north of Durango, Colorado, has expanded its instruction program and now offers telemark clinics and a free race series. Each clinic costs $11 and includes instruction and a lift ticket (which costs alpine skiers $22). They're tentatively scheduled for noon on November 30, December 15, January 19, February 8, and March 8; the last four dates include free races. To confirm dates, call (303) 247-9000.
