Sizing up a love rival is no laughing matter; Steamie talk.

Byline: libbymcarthur

Through the steam, red and shamefaced, one of our bathers confessed. Although she was the chuckee and not the chucked, it was hard for her that after four years of them being a couple, not only had he taken up with someone else pronto, he'd moved her in. Steamie talk Harder still was that due to her determination to be friendly with the new girlfriend, she agreed to go out for a drink altogether. This, the rest of us felt, was maybe an overstretch.

In an attempt to seem nonchalant, she decided to find the replacement terribly amusing - until she heard herself, much to the couple's alarm, laughing loudly without a punchline. Her next tack was to commiserate with her on his snoring. The newbie said, "au contraire". She found it reassuring. Watching his new love walk to the ladies, he turned to his old flame saying: "She's a size eight."

To which our frazzled woman squawked: "What? Shoe?"
