Six bike lifters and cheaters arrested for looting patients families.
ISLAMABAD -- Islamabad police have arrested six bike lifters including an Afghan national and also four other persons of a criminal gang involved in looting citizens after intoxicating them as well as pick pocketing activities, a police spokesman said.
He said that SP (Investigation) Mohammad Ilyas constituted special teams including personnel of Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) following directives of
SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani to arrest those involved in bike lifting incidents in various areas.
These teams included Inspector Mohammad Shafique, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Afzal, ASIs Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Sharif, Waheed Ahmed and others. One of the team managed to arrest two persons Ali resident of Jalalabad, Afghanistan and Ajmal Khan during special checking at IJP road. A bike stolen from Sadiqabad Rawalpindi and theft tools were recovered from them.
Another police team nabbed four persons identified as Naveed, Mubashir, Qasim and Aaqib and recovered four bikes stolen from area of Margallah police station.
During preliminary investigation, the nabbed persons confessed to strike at various places in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and they used to sell stolen bikes in Peshawar and other areas. Police is hopeful for more recovery of them and raids are also being conducted to arrest their other accomplices.
Meanwhile, Islamabad Margallah police station arrested four persons of a criminal gang involved in looting citizens after intoxicating them and pick pocketing activities.
A special team was constituted by SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani on some reported incidents of snatching valuables from citizens after intoxicating them.
This team was led by SHO Margallah Inspector Malik Basheer including Sub-Inspector Azhar Mehmud worked hard and succeeded to arrest two persons identified as Haroon and Raees who used to loot citizens after intoxicating them at PIMs hospital. Earlier, police nabbed their one of accomplice Shakeel involved in similar incidents.
Moreover, ASI Muhamamd Anwer from Margallahh police nabbed Zubair and Usman for alleged involvement in pick pocketing activities. Police also recovered mobile phones and Rs. 60,000 from them. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway.
SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appreciated this overall performance and announced cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for members of police teams.
