Six arrests in McDonalds armed robbery.

SIX people were arrested following an armed robbery at a McDonalds restaurant.

Officers were called to the burger outlet in Page Moss, Huyton just after 8am yesterday.

Police received reports that a gang had entered McDonalds on Liverpool Road armed with a metal bar and a knife.

They approached staff members, threatened them and demanded cash.

They left the premises on foot with an amount of cash.

No one was injured though staff members were left very shaken following the incident.

A search was made of the area, which was forensically examined, and house-to-house enquiries were carried out. CCTV was also being checked.

Four men - aged 19 and 26, and two aged 18 - a 16-year-old boy and a 38-year-old woman, all from Huyton, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

All six remained in police custody last night.
