Sir Alan: I wanted to give both girls a job.
SIR Alan Sugar has revealed that he wanted to crown BOTH of The Apprentice finalists as winners.
The 62-year-old said he was so impressed with Yasmina Siadatan and Kate Walsh that he asked TV bosses if he could offer jobs to both women.
But he said BBC bosses barred the move claiming it would undermine the show.
Speaking ahead of tonight's final showdown Sir Alan said: "Both Kate and Yasmina are very employable so I asked the BBC if we could throw a bit of a wobbly on things and employ them both.
"Unfortunately the format is very clear and the promise is very clear - there is only one job.
"It was a real dilemma.
They are both fantastic and by far the best finalists I've ever had."
Tonight more than 10 million viewers are expected to tune in as the fifth series of The Apprentice reaches its climax.
And it will also be the final appearance for boardroom battleaxe Margaret Mountford - Sir Alan's "eyes and ears" since the show started.
The business adviser, 56, decided to quit so that she can finish her doctorate on ancient Egyptian manuscripts.
Sir Alan added: "Five years ago she agreed to put her studies on hold for the first series.
"None of us expected the show to be such a big hit, but now she really wants to finish her PhD. We will miss her, but I respect her wishes."
But nothing stays still in business and Sir Alan is already eyeing up possible replacements.
"I'm thinking about Heather Mills or maybe Jordan," he joked.
Tough choice... Sir Alan Going... Margaret
