THE OVERTONES: Say What I Feel. Although not a cover the inspiration is from the likes of The Temptations and The Drifters with a bassline borrowed from Showaddywaddy. If they were any more sharply dressed they'd cut themselves.

THE INDICATORS: Simon D. Slap yer round the face folk punk fronted by none other than the song's subject, Simon D. He's the son of a chip shop worker and bin man which gives added authenticity to the tragic comedy fuelled by boredom and a lack of cash.

ALLO DARLIN': Capricornia.

Yes. Such a place does exist in Queensland, Australia, although the band's name is pure east end. The jangly guitar gets things rolling along so much it doesn't stop to squeeze in a chorus.
