Singer's hiccups torment.

SINGER Christopher Sands turned to a hypnotist in desperation after hiccupping non-stop for six months.

The professional backing vocalist had been unable to work because of the affliction, which made it hard to eat and sleep.

He thought his ordeal was over when he came round after a session of hypnotherapy to find his hiccups had gone.

But his relief was shortlived as they started up again within half an hour.

Chris, 23, who has tried all the known home remedies, said yesterday: "For a short while I thought it was all sorted.

I kept saying thank you to the hypnotist but after 20 minutes it was back."

Now Chris, of Timberland, Lincs, is having his brain, throat and torso examined by doctors to find and treat the cause.
