Simon a big Factor in Paloma's move.
PALOMA Faith asked for Simon Cowell's blessing before signing up for The Voice - as it competes with his rival ITV show X Factor.
The Brit Award winner said: "Simon is an extremely powerful man and indirectly he is very high up in Sony, the music company I'm with. I don't want to be signed and shelved."
Paloma, 34, who joins the BBC series as a coach this year, said: "The two main shows are his one and The Voice. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot. So I had to call around and be like 'is this gonna p*** you off?' "Simon just was like, 'You should go for it. You are not going to be suddenly dropped by Sony, don't worry'," she said.
