Silva praise for local talent.

BRIDGEND.......................26 SWANSEA........................23 BRIDGEND head coach Matt Silva was delighted after his side snatched victory against Swansea with a last-gasp penalty try.

Come the crunch, the Ravens may well look back on this dramatic victory as a crucial one with four teams to be relegated from the Premiership at the end of the season. "To get the bonus point win on a penalty try at the end was fantastic," said Silva. "One of the benefits of using lots of local boys was they played for the jersey and that showed at the end.

"I thought Swansea were a bit guilty of trying to close the game down a bit too early by trying to pick and drive with 10 minutes to go and this played into our hands."

Swansea held a 12-5 advantage at half-time thanks to first-half tries from Rhys Williams and Josh Guy against an Adam O'Driscoll try for Bridgend.

Paul John's try and two Owen Howe penalties after the break looked to have won it for Swansea but they were denied by Jamie Murphy and Iestyn Merriman tries - both converted by Will Holley - and that late penalty try.

BRIDGEND - Tries: A O'Driscoll, J Murphy, I Merriman, Penalty try; Cons: W Holley (2).

SWANSEA - Tries: R R Williams, J Guy, P John; Con: O Howe; Pens: O Howe (2).
