SILEBY METHODIST CHURCH. A quiet week after the excitement of last week but Rev Jonathan Gichaara and a member of the congregation visited Highbury Residential Home on Wednesday, March 20, for their monthly service.
What lovely folk they are, always so pleased to see us and always enjoying the singing and the Word.
Thursday and Saturday, 21/23rd saw Cafe@Chapel open from 9.30am - 11am and, once again, we wish to thank all those people who come along each week to support us. It is so lovely to see you all!
Sunday, 24th, saw Rev Calvin Cheung bringing the word of God to the congregation at the 10.45am service.
Calvin's wife Jenny always accompanies him and they are a lovely couple who work in close harmony to present a thought provoking service. His theme this week was'The Temptation of Jesus' and he took us through how Satan tried to persuade Jesus to worship him.
Our Lord, of course, did no such thing and in so doing showed us the way we should live today. Thank you Calvin for leading us in the right path.
Next week it is Mothering Sunday as well as altering the clocks and we look forward to welcoming Rev John Pugh to our service commencing at 10.45am.
We hope you are sorting out your curios and antiques to bring for valuation on Wednesday, 10th April when Vanessa Savage of Hanson's Auctioneers will be with us from 4pm - 8pm to assist you in any way she can. There will be a small fee for each item which will be for church funds and refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you and the school car park will be available.
