Sikh organisations condemn excessive use of force in IoK.
ISLAMABAD -- Various Sikh organisations, including Sikh Intellectuals Circle, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), International Sikh Federation, Sikh Students Federation and Sikh youths of J and K (SYJK), have strongly condemned the excessive use of force on students and civilians in Indian occupied Kashmir.
According to reporter, as per a joint statement, Sikh leaders representing these organisations at a meeting, held in Jammu, decided to submit joint memorandum to the United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Amnesty International and other human rights organisations to draw their attention towards the present appalling human rights situation in occupied Kashmir.
Sikh leaders said ruthless beating of students and particularly tying of one youth to an Indian army jeep as a human shield is a serious war crime.
For stable and prosperous South Asia, International community should facilitate talks among India, Pakistan and people of Jammu and Kashmir to resolve the lingering issue of Kashmir, the Sikh leaders said.
Those who attended the meeting included S Jaspal Singh Mangal, S Narinder Singh Khalsa, Bhai Gurdev Singh, S Amanjeet Singh Kmr, Bhai Ram Singh, S Ranjeet Singh, S Davinder Singh, S Surinder Singh, S Manmeet Singh, S Manjeet Singh and S Inder Singh.
