Signal a wish for free trains.

Train users from Cardiff are being invited to become special VIP travellers and help build up a picture of the reality of travelling by train.

CrossCountry, which has just taken over the rail service that covers routes going as far afield as Aberdeen, is offering people the chance to receive four free return journeys out of Cardiff - in return for vital feedback about modern train travel and who uses it and why.

Commercial director Catherine Mason said: "We're looking for commuters, leisure travellers, students and families to explore the country and to help us create a pen picture of the modern train user - by being the eyes and ears of our customers"

Those interested in becoming a VIP mystery train traveller should log on to www.crosscountrytrains to register.

The closing date for applicants is November 30.
