ARE you taking part in the Tees Pride 10k this year? Now in its seventh year, the 2011 event is taking place on Sunday, September 4. Last year more than 4,500 runners pounded Boro's streets to take part in the event which has become a key date on the local and national running calendar.

The run started life in 2005 with 1,670 entrants.

And since then the 10k's reputation has grown every year.

Last year, as well as record numbers of runners taking part, record numbers did the accompanying fun run and record numbers lined the streets to support the runners. An elite men and women's mile was one of the highlights of the day - completed in under four minutes by some runners. And as well as the 10k, there will also be a fun run.

Whether you want to run, jog or walk the route, organisers say the 10k is great event for all.

Entries are now open for the 10k and 3k.? People wanting to take part should log on to
