Sickening attack on prone man captured on camera.

Byline: MARC WADDINGTON

THIS is the moment a thug knocked a man to the ground and then booted him while he lay unconscious on the pavement.

Mitchell Redmore had attacked the man without any provocation. His head was said to have been lifted up by the force of the kick.

The blow was so hard a passing truck driver said he could hear it from inside his cab.

But although Redmore was slammed by a judge as being responsible for "thuggish street violence that gives Wrexham a bad name," he was allowed to walk free from court.

He was given a 12-month suspended sentence and ordered to do 250 hours of community service.

Mold Crown Court heard that the group had been chanting "Wrexham, Wrexham" on Regent Street in the town.

Redmore went up to them and punched one man, then kicked him in the head.

A second victim was also punched during the April 27 incident.

Richard Thomas, defending, said that Redmore had admitted what he had done and was full of remorse.

It was completely out of character. He worked six days a week and travelled back and forth to London . His only free day would be a Saturday and that could be used up doing his unpaid work.

That would mean that he could compensate the victim and continue to support his family, Mr Thomas said.

Redmore, 21, of Hamilton Avenue in Sandycroft, Deeside, admitted affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm on victim Harri Lucas-Jones and common assault on Jordan Valentine.
