Sick mail bovvers star Tate.

COMEDIAN Catherine Tate has been targeted by a poison pen letter writer.

Police are investigating claims the 41-year-old - whose catchphrases include "Am I bovvered?" - had been getting "malicious communications".

The former Doctor Who star's husband Twig Clark called in cops in January after letters arrived at their London home.

Tate was said to have been left "chilled" by the letters.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Police received a complaint from a 35-year-old man on Sunday, January 17, regarding malicious communications. Detectives from Richmond-upon-Thames are investigating."

Tate, a graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama and the Royal National Theatre, found fame in the award-winning Catherine Tate Show before starring as the Doctor's assistant Donna.
