COLUMN: SHREWSBURY POLICE LOG

Sunday, Nov. 9

1:34 a.m.: Crescent Street/Boston Turnpike, caller reported hearing loud party in area.

2:16 a.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported a female fell down some stairs. One transported to the hospital.

2:28 a.m.: Power and Worthington avenues, one arrested for operating a motor vehicle after license was suspended and for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

3:46 a.m.: South Street, caller reported hearing loud party in the area. Officer spoke to homeowner, who ended party for the night.

4:18 a.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported female had passed out outside. Medics responded and transported one to hospital.

4:25 a.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported disturbance in upstairs room. Officers responded for verbal argument.

8:12 a.m.: Latura Street, caller reported neighbor's dog damaged her property.

9:21 a.m.: routes 9 and 140, officer reported male with broken arm at location. One transported to hospital.

10:47 a.m.: Maple Avenue, individuals requested to speak with officers regarding issues with juveniles in their neighborhood.

11:34 a.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported male and female throwing out trash behind building. Officer said the individuals are collecting cans.

12:44 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, one arrested for shoplifting.

12:58 p.m.: Eaglehead Terrace, caller reported male with unknown medical issues on the ground. One transported to hospital.

1:53 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported occupants of green Honda Civic are pointing weapon (possibly a toy gun) at individuals in other vehicles. Officer confirmed it was a toy gun.

2:08 p.m.: Keyes House Road, caller reported suspicious male walking in area.

5:09 p.m.: South Quinsigamond Avenue, one arrested on a warrant.

5:11 p.m.: Farview Avenue, three individuals arrested for possession of class D substance with intent to distribute.

7:28 p.m.: Maple Avenue, individual reported issue with gas pumps at business on Boston Turnpike. Fire Department notified and pumps were shut off due to minor leak.

7:46 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported odor of natural gas. Fire Department notified.

10:05 p.m.: Grafton Street, caller reported injured deer in roadway. Animal removed.

Monday, Nov. 10

12:59 a.m.: Walnut Street/Boston Turnpike, one arrested on a warrant.

7:51 a.m.: I-290, caller reported multi-car motor vehicle accident on I-290.

9:31 a.m.: South Quinsigamond Avenue, Caller reported she lost her passport.

9:38 a.m.: Brook Street, caller reported that change was taken from his motor vehicle sometime Friday night.

12:18 p.m.: Tennis Drive, caller reported snowblower was stolen.

2:02 p.m.: Main Street, caller reported he hit a dog with his motor vehicle. Dog is dead.

5:49 p.m.: Yorkshire Terrace, caller asked to speak with officer about receiving harassing text messages and phone calls.

5:52 p.m.: Julio Drive, caller reported individual with unknown injury fell in dining room. One transported to hospital.

9:26 p.m.: Maple Avenue, individual reported her motor vehicle was vandalized on Nov. 1.

10:20 p.m., Muzzy Avenue, caller reported female was attacked by a cat.

Tuesday, Nov. 11

9:49 a.m.: South Quinsigamond Avenue, caller reported mailbox was vandalized. Mailboxes also vandalized at three other addresses.

9:50 a.m.: Boylston Street, caller reported two youths dressed in black were walking in the yard.

11:16 a.m.: Main and Holman streets, caller reported trailer-truck pulled wires down in roadway.

11:59 a.m.: Prospect Street, caller reported two-car motor vehicle accident with injury.

3:23 p.m.: Plainfield Avenue, caller reported finding a black Labrador retriever with a green collar. Owner picked dog up at police station.

6:23 p.m.: Colonial Drive, Boylston Police reported an older model blue station wagon was being driven erratically. Driver turned vehicle into driveway and then walked into home.

6:50 p.m.: Lake Street, caller reported individual was at her door selling Avon products.

7:54 p.m.: Worcester, Worcester Police issued a "be on the lookout" for male operating a gray Cadillac with children possible in car. Male wanted in Worcester for threatening someone with a knife.

9:09 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported erratic motor vehicle operator.

11:06 p.m.: Main Street, caller reported a motor vehicle operator struck a deer.

Wednesday, Nov. 12

12:07 a.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported motor vehicle operator stuck a deer.

7:47 a.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported someone stole four rims from a motor vehicle.

9:24 a.m.: Lake Street/Hylair Drive, officer reported stone wall was collapsing. Rocks were in roadway.

10:45 a.m.: Sherwood Avenue, missing person reported. Child was located on Orchard Street.

11:27 a.m.: Spring and Holman streets, caller reported gas can leaking fluid. Officer responded to call and located can, which belonged to a landscaper.

12:39 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, Caller reported three-car motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries.

2:52 p.m.: North Quinsigamond Avenue/Boston Turnpike, medic reported odor of natural gas. Fire Department notified.

5:06 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported motor vehicle was possibly abandoned in area.

5:14 p.m.: Maple Avenue, individual asked to speak with officer regarding identity theft.

5:24 p.m.: Route 9/North Quinsigamond Avenue, caller reported odor of natural gas at intersection. Fire Department notified.

5:30 p.m.: South Quinsigamond Avenue, caller reported her mailbox was vandalized sometime during the night.

5:37 p.m.: Wachusett Avenue, caller reported a large coyote was in the area the last two nights.

6:57 p.m.: Cobblestone Way, caller reported juvenile daughter was home alone and reported hearing knocking on the windows.

7:05 p.m.: Maple Avenue, individual asked to speak to officer regarding harassment from an ex-boyfriend.

8:20 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported wife was late returning home and requested officer check business parking lot.

8:56 p.m.: Main and South streets, caller reported erratic motor vehicle operator. Vehicle came to rest on lawn on Main Street and then driver headed west on Main Street. Officer was with operator, who was waiting for a ride.

Thursday, Nov. 13

7:46 a.m.: Old Mill Road/Main Street, caller reported erratic motor vehicle operator.

7:46 a.m.: Hill Street, caller reported 15-year-old fainted. One transported to hospital.

9 a.m.: South Street, caller reported suspicious motor vehicle parked behind building. Individuals were given permission to park in location.

10:14 a.m.: South Quinsigamond Avenue, animal control officer removed skunk from garage.

10:21 a.m.: Boston Turnpike, one arrested for shoplifting and possession of class C substance.

12:41 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported male in black pickup truck possibly having a diabetic reaction. One transported to hospital.

1:38 p.m.: Maple Avenue, individual asked to speak to officer regarding mail scam.

4:42 p.m.: Wheelock and Gulf streets, caller requested well-being check for 11-year-old boy riding his bicycle.

5:35 p.m.: Grafton and Main streets, caller reported erratic motor vehicle operator. One arrested for marked lanes violation; operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor; and possession of an open container of alcohol in public.

6:12 p.m.: East Lake Road, caller reported black Labrador retriever was missing from location. Dog was found.

9:41 p.m.: Old Mill Road, caller reported dispute between male and female.

10:34 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, one arrested for having an open container of alcohol in public.

Friday, Nov. 14

7:14 a.m.: Main Street, caller reported two-car motor vehicle accident with injury. One transported to hospital.

8:13 a.m.: Latura and Oak streets, report of suspicious motor vehicle in area.

9:31 a.m.: Route 9/Oak Street: officer reported four-car motor vehicle accident with injury. One transported to hospital.

10:21 a.m.: Centennial Drive, caller requested medics for female who was struck in head with an object.

12:08 p.m.: Seneca Street, caller asked to speak to officer about mail she received.

12:11 p.m.: Gulf Street, caller reported injured fox in area.

2:28 p.m.: Carlton and Main streets, caller reported motor vehicle operator in red Pontiac speeding through area. When officer responded, individual said driver chased him from Shrewsbury High School.

2:48 p.m.: Oak Street, officer reported yellow Haro boy's bike was stolen.

3:04 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported customer was causing a disturbance. Officers sent individual on his way.

4:05 p.m.: Holden Street, officer returned blue Mongoose bike to individual.

5:06 p.m.: Lake Street, medics requested for 10-year-old with shoulder dislocation.

5:43 p.m.: Hartford Turnpike, officer checking on suspicious person/motor vehicle at business. Individual was using a cell phone.

6:05 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, officer checking on vehicle with open door. It was oversight by owner.

6:27 p.m.: Elizabeth Street, animal control officer spoke to individual regarding barking dogs.

11:32 p.m.: Deergrass Road, caller reported mailbox was smashed by someone using pumpkins.

Saturday, Nov. 15

12:32 a.m.: Grafton Street, caller reported a ladder was stolen from his truck earlier in the day.

2:21 a.m.: Boston Turnpike, three arrested: one for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle; one arrested on warrants; and one arrested for possession of class B substance.

2:30 a.m.: Hartford Turnpike, one arrested for possession of class B substance and disorderly conduct.

4:39 a.m.: Main Street, caller reported female was injured from fall.

7:24 a.m.: Arbor Drive, caller reported a breaking and entering into his motor vehicle.

10:10 a.m.: Avalon Way, one arrested on warrants.

1:20 p.m.: Julio Drive, caller requested medic for female who was choking. One transported to hospital.

2:04 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported two children locked in motor vehicle.

2:15 p.m.: Maple Avenue, individual asked to speak to officer regarding a dispute.

3:50 p.m.: Edgewater Avenue, caller reported a suspicious package.

5:26 p.m.: Lake Street, officer checking on suspicious motor vehicle.

5:57 p.m.: Elm Street, one arrested on a warrant.

6:50 p.m.: Vega Drive, caller reported group of youths rang his doorbell then left.

8:27 p.m.: Spring Street/Spring Terrace, caller reported tree in roadway. Officer reported branch was removed.

8:58 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, caller reported paper boxes in roadway. Officer removed boxes.

9:42 p.m.: Boston Turnpike, officer out with suspicious motor vehicle. Individuals sent on their way.

11:16 p.m.: Sheryl Drive, several callers reported a loud party in the area. Officers responded and resident on Sheryl Drive agreed to quiet down for the evening.
