SHREWSBURY skipper Will Parton is eyeing a spot in the top two of the Birmingham League Premier Division One.

The London Roaders are sitting fourth in the table and host third-placed Walsall tomorrow before heading off next week to Birmingham to face a Knowle & Dorridge side currently second in the table.

"It's a big couple of weeks," said Parton. "There are a big two games coming up - we could potentially go up to second place.

"Walsall are a good side - a similar side to us really with some young players who are playing well. It's good to have home advantage and it should be a good game."

And Shrewsbury are forced into making three changes for the Walsall game with Rob Foster and Llyr Thomas missing as they are away.

George Panayi and Pete Clarke are pencilled in to replace them.

Excellent Josh Anders goes down to the seconds with Shrewsbury School teacher and former Welsh Minor Counties player Rhodri Evans coming in for the next two fixtures.

"Rhodri is a good player," continued Parton. "He's new and he's in as a batter." Panayi had been due to play in the excellent win at Kidderminster last weekend, but was forced to pull out to join up with his parent club Warwickshire and took two wickets for the Bears' seconds against Northants.

"George is in as a batter," said the skipper. "But, like last time, he pulled out on the Friday evening so there is always that chance. As it stands he's in on Saturday.

"Pete Clarke is back in the side. He plays for Worcestershire Academy and played against us in the Graham Williamson Trophy first game of the season.

"He played against Shropshire for Worcestershire as well."
