Show may damage bid.

A TV programme focusing on the policing of three major sporting events in Cardiff will be screened tonight.

Fears were raised before Riot Cops - the result of month-long filming from London-based Folio Productions - was made that it could reflect badly on Cardiff in the run-up to a decision on the 2008 Capital of Culture bid.

Bet Davies, director of marketing at Cardiff 2008, has said she thought the filming was a bad idea and could be ``highly damaging to Cardiff's reputation''.

City officials are confident Cardiff will shine on screen but Bet said: ``We will just have to wait and see.''

# Riot Cops is on BBC1 tonight at 11.05pm.
