Shot girl mourned.

SCHOOL pals of gun tragedy teenager Sophie Taylor paid tribute to her yesterday at a special assembly.

Sophie, 16, was shot dead by gamekeeper boyfriend Calum Murray in an apparent accident last week at Calum's cottage near Tomintoul, Banffshire. Calum, 18, killed himself moments later.

The assembly was held after kids at Speyside High School in Aberlour returned from the Easter holidays.

School chaplain Sven Bjarnason said: "I told the pupils I wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all go away, but I can't."

Headmaster David Tierney remembered Sophie as a "caring, smiling, gentle, helpful" girl.
