Shortlist revealed for Asian business awards.
THE shortlist has been revealed for the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) annual awards in Birmingham next month.
The event, which will welcome government minister and Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid as guest speaker, takes place on November 19 at the International Convention Centre.
The awards will feature six categories, including Outstanding Business Woman of the Year. Shortlisted are Kavita Bachada, of PEL Solicitors, Kavita Parmer, of Word 360 Language Services, and Shaz Manir, of Amirah Foundation.
Other categories include Outstanding Large Business of the Year. Shortlisted are Al Rayan Bank, Glide Utilities and Marks Sattin.
The Outstanding Contribution to Society category is being contested by Accord Group, Chase Terrace Technology College and Penny Appeal.
The Outstanding Start-Up of the Year shortlist is Big Events Co, Mango Delivery and Snapify, and the Outstanding Small Business of the Year will see a winner emerge from Deepalis Vegetarian Restaurant, I Will Solicitors and Word 360 Language Services.
The final category is Customer Service of the Year. Shortlisted for this are Al Rayan Bank, PEL Solicitors and Pushkar Cocktail Bar & Dining.
ABBC president Saqib Bhatti said: "Once again we have been inundated with exceptional talent. It really goes to show how strong business is in the region and what we have to offer and I congratulate all those who were shortlisted and I wish all those who applied all the best."
