Short points: KATE Mansey's music.

Byline: Derek Jeffery

KATE Mansey's music feature on the Black Velvets (ECHO, September 9) took me back 35 years or so.

I was a fan of a band called Black Velvet, of whom some readers may have memories.

Their recorded output included African Velvet, Peace And Love Is The Message (Give Lone a Try), See What You Get Out of Me, and Make It Better.

I presume the group no longer exists, although its musicians may well gave gone on to work with other artists
