Shoebox success; emails &letters.

LAST weekend, at St Barnabas Church (on the corner of the famous Penny Lane), we held our annual Shoebox service.

These Shoeboxes are packed with gifts for children, for whom family life is a struggle due to the poor surroundings they live in.

It's all part of an initiative by the Samaritan''s Purse charity, called Operation Christmas Child, which is the world's largest children's Christmas appeal with a heritage of 21 years.

Since St Barnabas became involved a few years ago, staff at the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo Old Hall Street office have contributed a huge number of shoeboxes. This year they packed 80 shoeboxes full of goodies for the children.

What a fabulous gesture.

Can I and all the folk at St Barnabas thank everyone for this great gift of kindness to children whose lives will be filled with joy and excitement when they open their shoeboxes.
