Shirley's dress in charity auction.

A DRESS donated by Dame Shirley Bassey was auctioned on Friday night for The Noah's Ark Appeal.

The leopard print maxi dress was worn by Dame Shirley, pictured in the dress, at the 2008 Pride of Britain Awards.

The Tiger Bay singer will again show her support for the children's charity next month as she becomes godmother to Adonia, the latest addition to the P&O Cruises fleet.

To mark the event, she is donating her fee to The Noah's Ark Appeal for Phase Two of The Children's Hospital for Wales.

She will name the stylish ship in a glittering ceremony in Southampton on May 21.

Chairman of The Noah's Ark Appeal, Lyn Jones, said: "We are very proud of Dame Shirley Bassey for becoming godmother of Adonia and we are delighted that she once again shows her continued support for our charity. She is a truly dedicated patron."

Always a strong supporter of the charity, Dame Shirley Bassey became patron in 2008.
