Four ships have reportedly collided in two separate incidents in the Gulf of Finland in difficult weather conditions.

On Tuesday (11 March) the German cargo ship Katrin and Russian cargo ship Pioner Litvy collided southeast of Pelling, but no serious damage was caused to the ships or the environment.

On Wednesday (12 March) the Dutch container vessel MSC Baltic and Swedish tanker Omega af Donso came into contact with each other in front of Porkkala, near Helsinki, but sustained only minor damage.
