Shipping activity at Port Qasim.
KARACHI -- Six ships including MOL Courage, Bentonville, Cedvet-A, SSI Triumph, Big Apple and Al-Ajnan carrying Containers, Palm oil, Coal, Phosphoric Acid and LNG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Pakistan
International Bulk Terminal Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elngy Terminal respectively on Thursday. Meanwhile, edible carrier Sino Energy-8 also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. A total of eleven ships were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, rice,f coal, LNG, palm oil and Mogas respectively. Out of them an oil tanker Pike sailed out to sea on Friday morning and five more ships including Ikan Pulas, Big Apple, MOL Courage, Cevdey-A and Giant Causeway are expected to sail on the same day in the afternoon and container vessel maersk Betonville is expected to sail at night hours. Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 192,127 tonnes comprising 164,074 tonnes imports cargo and 28,053 tonnes export of cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,073 containers, (TEUs), (1,886 TEUs imports and 1,187 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port. Four ships including Maersk Salina, Equinox Agnadoussa, Clarice and Sovereign carrying Containers, Coal, Palm oil and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, PIBT, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Friday. While Container vessels Diyala and Safmarine Ngami are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday.
