Shipping activity at Port Qasim.

KARACHI -- Six ships carrying containers, cement andchemical were berthed t Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively, Meanwhile five more ships carrying containers, wheat, chemical and sun flower seeds also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 95% at the port on Wednesday where ten ships namely Al Rain, Maersk Kalamata, Safmarine Ngami, Melos, Rosco, Zulal, Kal Hong, Poplar, Ocean US9, Feng Hal, MT Lahore and Ecenurk K are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rape seed, chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 142459 tonnes comprising 88033 tonnes imports and 54426 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4826 containers (TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours
