Shipping activity at Port Qasim.

KARACHI -- Six ships carrying containers, cement, steel, coil, wheat, diesel oil, and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FAP Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Thursday, Port sources said here Friday.

Port sources further said three more ships carrying containers and chemical also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 95% at the Port on Friday where total ten ships namely CGM Nederland, Kerstin, White Hawk, Conti Lapislazuli, Thor Harmony, Anna Maria, Bochem Chennai, Al Soor II, Chem Road Lily and Amagi Galaxy are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, urea, wheat, diesel oil, chemical and edible oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 162095 tonnes comprising 135019 tonnes imports and 27075 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 5127 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
