Shipoke Abaco 16.
What started as a brainstorming inshore boat from Andros Boatworks in Sarasota came to fruition under the guidance of Shipoke Boatworks in Safety Harbor. The Shipoke Abaco 16 is a lightweight, 540-pound skiff built for shallow water and technical poling. Still, with a load weight of about 1,350 pounds, up to four people can ride in the boat (though it might be crowded for fishing). The flush deck features an oversize storage hatch at the bow for an anchor or personal flotation devices. At the stern, a custom poling platform overlooks the bilge compartment, a side livewell and storage hatch. The center console topper has plenty of room for electronics. Shipoke boats are fully customizable, so most options are available. Beam is 7 feet, 3 inches; deadrise is 12 inches; fuel capacity is 25 gallons; and maximum horsepower is 90. Base price is $29,900.
