Shia LaBeouf got high on acid for new flick.

New York, August 29 ( ANI ): Shia LaBeouf has revealed that he took drugs to prepare for a scene in upcoming movie 'The Necessary Death of Charlie Countrymen,' which sees his character tripping.

"There's a way to do an acid trip like 'Harold and Kumar,' and there's a way to be on acid," the New York Post quoted him as saying.

"What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that [electric] chair in Dead Man Walking. These are the guys that I look up to," he said.

LaBeouf is no stranger to baring all in the name of art - he famously bared all for Icelandic band Sigur Ros' eight-and-a-half minute music video, and he recently said that he would be having real sex for his newest art movie 'Nymphomaniac,' directed by provocateur Lars Von Trier.

According to reports, LaBeouf had given up drinking after a series of incidents including a bar brawl and a car accident - but said that he was such a dedicated method actor that he drank moonshine for his role as a Prohibition-era bootlegger in 'Lawless.' ( ANI )
