Taylor Housley scored twice to back the shutout goaltending of Ammie Mohler in Sheldon's 2-0 girls soccer victory over visiting Grants Pass on Tuesday.
The victory helped the Irish improve to 3-0-0 in the Southwest Conference and keep pace atop the standings with North Medford, which improved to 3-0-0 with a 2-0 victory over Roseburg.
South Medford 3, South Eugene 1: Kelly Dunlap scored two goals and Melissa Boyd had another as the Panthers beat the Axemen at home. Maddy Cling's goal in the 58th minute tied it for South Eugene.
MWL girls soccer
North Eugene 6, Springfield 0: Kelise Knight broke a scoreless tie in the 47th minute with the first of her two goals and added an assist as the Highlanders won on the road. Iris Anderson, Tayler Ficek, Allison Frost and Maria Villa also scored for North Eugene. Melanee Trumbull posted her second league shutout.
Churchill 4, Marshfield 0: Melyssa Weber and Tara Dennehey each had a goal and an assist for the Lancers in the victory at Coos Bay. Rebecca Rinaldi and Chloe Marquartt also scored for Churchill, which got shutout goaltending from Christine Wilson and Niki Tessin-Mason.
Thurston 1, Willamette 0: Jessie Eisel's header in the 47th minute lifted the visiting Colts over the Wolverines.
Sky-Em girls soccer
Marist 9, Elmira 0: Macky Dennis had a hat trick and two assists to lead the Spartans, who also got two goals from Kayla Braud and one each from Ema Cooney, Chelsea McConnell, Katie Noonan and Amanda Weiler.
Cottage Grove 9, La Pine 0: Reed Levings had a hat trick for the Lions. Other scorers were Melody Bliss, Alissa Bonds, Jasmine Klein, Mariah Pupke, Teresa Quick and Meghen Stine.
District 3 girls soccer
Brookings 1, North Bend 0: Ashley Juarez scored off a rebound in the 59th minute to lift the league-leading Bruins over the Bulldogs. Emilee Bottoms had three saves for the shutout, and Anna Houghton had nine saves for North Bend.
Far West volleyball
Alexandra Mateski's 19 kills led North Bend to a 20-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-22 victory at Sutherlin. Katie Vanta had 34 assists and Hailey Dunham had 27 digs for North Bend. Amanda Hutchings had 12 kills and 16 digs, and Tessa Knight had 23 digs for Sutherlin.
Chandler Gabrio and Alicia Geil combined for 12 kills and 11 aces to lead Creswell to a 25-15, 25-11, 25-13 win at Waldport. Jamie McMahon had 15 assists for the Bulldogs, and Katie Smith had nine for Waldport.
Mountain View volleyball
Alexa Blanchfill's 11 kills and seven aces set the pace for Yoncalla in a 25-21, 29-27, 25-12 victory at Central Linn. Hayley Reynolds and Amanda Thorp added nine kills each for Yoncalla, while Briana Wibbens had 10 digs and Karina Bagg had eight aces for Central Linn.
Kim Thompson had seven kills and Tessa Stroda added nine assists for Monroe in a 25-10, 25-16, 25-16 win at Riddle. Kailee Hanson led Riddle with 12 assists.
Alesa Emel had 12 kills and five blocks, and Kassidee Rice had 14 aces and 12 digs for a 25-21, 18-25, 25-17, 25-12 victory over Oakland.

Alsea won 25-16, 25-16, 25-18 at Oak Hill, which got nine kills from Kim Anderson and four aces for Marin Grey.
Bailey Koharchick had 18 kills and 10 blocks as visiting Crow beat McKenzie, 25-21, 21-25, 25-14, 25-18. Linsey Kau added nine kills for the Cougars. Karissa Harbick had seven kills and 25 digs, and Krystle Brick added seven kills for McKenzie.
Stephanie Schaenzer had nine kills, Tara Ash had nine assists and Lacey Larson had a team-high four aces for Triangle Lake in a 24-26, 25-21, 25-16, 25-13 victory over visiting Mohawk.
Amber Harris and Ashlie Harper had seven kills each to lead Mapleton to a 25-10, 25-20, 23-25, 25-15 victory at Lifegate Christian. Gretta Hanger and Shaniqua Wilson had four aces each for Lifegate.
Sara Hartwig had eight aces and Rayna Dickinson added seven to lead Lowell to a 25-5, 25-9, 25-16 victory over visiting Siletz Valley. Katie Erlei added six kills for Lowell.
Sierra Hooley had 10 assists for Fairview Christian in its 25-10, 25-15, 25-19 victory over visiting Eddyville.

South Medford 1, South Eugene 0: Kory Kellum headed in Beto Cortez's crossing pass to give the Panthers the victory over the host Axemen.
Sheldon 3, Grants Pass 2: Kyle Dillon scored twice in the first half and Tommy Yates added a goal for the Irish. Eddie Mendoza scored for Grants Pass.
Drew Haines' sixth goal of the game with 3:53 left proved to be the game-winner as South Eugene beat North Eugene 9-8 at Amazon Pool. South Eugene won the boys game 15-6 to stay unbeaten in Southern League play.
