The auctions of the retreat/conference center, formerly a summer lakefront resort in the Catskills, and development sites in Pawling are part of Sheldon Good & Company's "Metro 16" Spring 2001 auction series.
The retreat is 95 acres, and includes 1,150 feet of lake frontage, as well as heavily wooded and rolling terrain with lake views. The main lodge building, five stories high, was built in 1915. The retreat is improved with ten buildings, one barn and one shed, offering a total of 102 lodging units with a capacity of 195 guests. The accommodations include a variety of amenities including 21 guest rooms, 59 studio apartments with kitchenettes, 20 1-bedroom and two, two-bedroom apartments with kitchens and a four-bedroom single family home. There is also a fully equipped commercial kitchen, dining room, two conference rooms, a lobby with fieldstone fireplace, administrative office building, laundry and grounds maintenance facilities.

Representatives of Sheldon Good & Company will be on site March 28. Both properties are located at Dodge Road. The Village of Pawling is rich in history. Some of the past residents have included Edward R. Murrow, Lowell Thomas, Norman Vincent Peale and Governor Thomas E. Dewey.
