Sheer bliss for title chasers Arbroath.

Arbroath 2 Elgin City 0

PLAYER-BOSS Paul Sheerin set up one and netted another as his table-toppers kept on track for their first title success with an easy win over 10-man Elgin.

Arbroath needed just three minutes to take the lead with Gavin Swankie heading home Sheerin's cross.

The home side made it 2-0 in 20 minutes when Sheerin met Kieran McAnespie's cross to net from 10 yards. Elgin were down to 10 men in 53 minutes with Paul Kaczan copping a second yellow for fouling David McGowan.

Arbroath failed to extend their lead but Sheerin said: "It's another good win for us although we've still got a lot of work to do in this league."
