Sharp's Expanding Line of Microwave Drawers Brings Accessibility and Sophisticated Design to Today's Kitchens.

CHICAGO -- At 2006 K/BIS, Sharp is showcasing its line of Microwave Drawers, which has grown from Insight(TM) and Insight Pro(TM) Ranges to include a standalone unit and a combination Cooktop+Microwave Drawer(TM). Sharp's Microwave Drawer(TM) solution is concealed beneath a countertop to create a high-style placement option that positions the microwave at a height where ease and accessibility is maximized. Most recently, Sharp added a 24-inch unit to the line that gives kitchen designers more flexibility when incorporating a Microwave Drawer into a design layout.

"Sharp is the only manufacturer to offer a full suite of microwave drawer configurations, leading the industry with a standout design solution that addresses an important issue in kitchen design," Christine Lewis, senior director of marketing, appliances, Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America. "The new 24-inch unit fits into one of the most popularly-used cabinet size spaces, so it can be placed easily within both renovations and new kitchen construction."

In addition to the Microwave Drawer, Sharp is also displaying its Superheated Steam Oven. The oven is a versatile countertop solution for healthy cooking, allowing consumers to bake, roast, grill or steam their favorite foods. It is the only oven that employs Sharp's superheated steam technology, to produce delicious dishes that have the health benefits of steam cooking without sacrificing crispness or moisture. Pre-programmed settings make it effortless to cook a selection of popular foods, while manual settings allow consumers to use the oven to cook almost any food.
