Shah accuses government of victimizing masses to cover its failures.

ISLAMABAD -- Opposition leader in National Assembly, Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, while advising government to enhance tax-net instead of increasing taxes, has accused government of victimizing masses to cover its failures.

In his recent statement, while declaring the recent announcement of finance minister regarding increase in taxes as quite regretful, he said that PPP-led government had managed to increase revenue from a precious of Rs 1020 billion to Rs 1980 billion; "while the current government has targeted a tax revenue of Rs 2435 billion, which seems to be impossible to achieve", he said.

He also lambasted government's addiction to loans, stressing reforms in government's own institutions and procedures for better progress and development of Nation's economy.

"Opposition would do its utmost to ensure that masses get relief in forthcoming budget , and in future meeting(s) would stress on government to make at least a 30% increase in employees salaries and pensions; since no country can progress without progress and prosperity of labour, employees and farmers " , he stated.

He also stressed on PML-N to redeem the promises it made to masses during the elections, conveying that "serving democracy is serving masses, and we want to see both these elements strong and stable" he resolved.
