Shaftesbury Youth stay in second after defeat; CHESHIRE & WIRRAL.

THE CWFL schedule was severely hit by the poor weather last weekend with only six out of 16 games taking place.

Shaftesbury Youth remain in second place of the CWFL Queensferry Sports Premier Division after a second-half comeback by Newton Athletic saw them fall to a 4-3 defeat.

Shafts went into the break 3-2 up with goals from Ryan Pleavin, Anthony Povall and Steve Large but Newton edged the win thanks to strikes from Ben Woodman, Lewis Davenport, Dan Christianson and Adam Pownall.

Ellesmere Port had a welcome 2-0 win over Christleton FC with their goals coming from Richard Feightman and Chris Robertson.

Crossway extended their lead in the CWFL Olympic Trophies Championship Division to six points with a 6-3 win over Hoole Rovers.

Their goals came courtesy of Mark Goldthorpe, Greg Campbell (3), Matty Leedham and an own goal.

In the CWFL Tarvin Precision Vets Division East Tarvin Athletic Vets remain top with a 3-1 win over Crossway Vets with goals from Ant Killilea, Cormac Harte and an own goal.

Bal Darnoi replied for Crossway.

Farndon Vets (Derek Nurse) and Ashton Vets (Tom Harrison) fought out a 1-1 draw.

Dee Rangers enjoyed their second win of the season with a 3-1 win over Hartford Vets in very wet and blustery conditions.

Sam Kilner, Adam Gill and James Pike scored the Dee Rangers' goals.
