Sewing machines distributed among transgender community members.

ISLAMABAD -- Sewing machines have been distributed among 25 transgenders by a non-governmental organization in Peshawar to enable members of the transgender community to adopt a respectable profession.

The members of the transgender community expressed happiness over receiving sewing machines and said it would help them in quitting the profession of dancing, reported a private news channel.

'Large number of the community members are ready to quit dancing and want to adopt a respectable profession. They need the support of the society,' said Farzana, president of the provincial She Male Association

She appreciated the efforts of the welfare organization for providing sewing machines to the transgender community members.
