Several NGOs launch 'Stop Girl Child Marriage' Campaign.

Rawalpindi -- The campaign to address the harmful practice of early age marriage was jointly launched at National College of Arts by Action Aid Pakistan, Plan International and Ideas for Life Trust.

With the message "Safeguard My Childhood: Stop Girl Child Marriage", as part of 16 days of activism on eliminating violence against women. The event focused on sensitizing youth about the issue by involving them into live painting, poetry writing and music. Specially designed book marks, pocket calendars, and doll key chains were disseminated among the youth.

For this campaign the organizers projected doll as the mascot which symbolizes childhood. Youth from NCA were mobilized and they creatively portrayed the issue as a negative customary practice through their creative art work.
