Several Canadian artists are on the roster of the Metropolitan Opera's 2002-3 season. Soprano Isabel Bayrakdarian makes her debut in A View from the Bridge (Dec.), while soprano Alexandria Deshorties returns as Constanze in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail (Jan.-Feb.). Soprano Wendy Nielsen is micaela in Carmen, conducted by Yves Abel (Nov.). Canada's three tenors are prominently featured: Richard Margison appears as Radames in Aida (Oct.-Nov.), Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos (Mar.-Apr.), and Calaf in Turandot (Feb.-Mar.); Michael Schade sings Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni (Dec.Jan.), and Ben Heppner sings in a new production of Les Troyens (Feb.-Mar.). Bass John Relyea appears in La Cenerentola (Sept-Oct.) and Lucia di Lammermoor (Nov.-Dec.), as well as in Mozart's Mass in C Minor with the Met Orchestra (May 16 and 18).
