KTVC, the new area UPN television affiliate, does not yet have a local broadcast channel assignment, as reported today in TV Week. The station can be seen over the air on channel 36 in Roseburg; on AT&T Broadband channels 12 (upgraded) and 17 (nonupgraded); and on Charter Cable channel 12. KTVC's owner, Equity Broadcasting of Little Rock, Ark., is in negotiations to provide a broadcast signal in Eugene, but a deal has not yet been finalized.

Willamette Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Eighth and 10th avenues beginning Sept. 9, and won't reopen again until after the Eugene Celebration, Sept. 20-22. A story on Friday - about the reopening of a two-block section of Olive Street - mentioned the Willamette closure but gave an incorrect date on which work on the street will begin.
