Serving enterprise CM. (News).
With its .Net and Web services capabilities, Microsoft believes its Content Management Server (CMS) 2002 (microsoft.com/cmserver) provides a significant alternative to other enterprise CM offerings. CMS 2002 is part of Microsoft's .Net Enterprise Server family, which also includes BizTalk Server, Commerce Server and SharePoint Portal Server. CMS 2002 provides deeper integration with .Net and support for industry standards, resulting in a more extensible, flexible and powerful Web content management solution, Microsoft claims.
Further, it says, integration with the .Net Framework and Visual Studio .Net allows developers to rapidly build and assemble CM-enabled Web applications and contentdriven Web services. Integration with Office is said to improve user productivity by allowing content creation and direct Web publishing from Microsoft Word.
