Sergeant says no to the big job.

Millennium Stadium chief executive Paul Sergeant has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant Welsh Rugby Union Group chief executive post. Sergeant has been linked to the position since the WRU announced it would be appointing a successor to David Moffett. But Sergeant has declared his current interests lie in maintaining the burgeoning reputation of Wales' national stadium on the world stage.

'The stadium industry is a very specialist business and I'm currently looking forward to seeing the results of a lot of hard work from the vibrant team we now have,' he said.

'If I was the correct person for the position, I would've been approached by now, I haven't and I will not be applying.

'This is a time for stability after three years of upheaval and I'll be concentrating on maintaining our burgeoning reputation.I look forward to working with the successful candidate in the future, to continue taking the business from strength to strength.'
