Serena Software Announces Computer-Based Training for Change Man Users; Saves Time, Reduces Training Costs and Improves Expertise on Change Management Implementations.

BURLINGAME, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 1999--

SERENA Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:SRNA), an industry-leading supplier of enterprise software change management solutions, today announced that it will offer computer-based training (CBT) for Change Man(R) Mainframe users.

This interactive course, along with SERENA's experienced consultants, delivers new levels of efficiency and convenience to help customers realize the full benefit of implementing change management solutions across the enterprise. Customers will save valuable time as well as the costs of off-site training by utilizing a CD-ROM, which offers developers access to the training course at any time and any location.

"The complete content of the SERENA user training class for Change Man has been captured on a CD," commented customer Beth Grover, Project Manager at Whirlpool. "The electronic format provides the excellence of the classroom with the ability to replay and review any section that needs to be revisited for clarification. Calculated redundancy is a characteristic of a good instructor. Our developers can review the same topic as many times as they need to comprehend the material."

This course offers significant cost savings, while providing valuable scheduling flexibility to ensure that critical product knowledge remains in-house. The computer-based training is a part of the comprehensive education and consulting services offered by SERENA.

"We partner with each customer to ensure that they utilize the maximum benefits provided by our products. Our training services are designed to expediently prepare developers for deployment of SERENA products, with accountability for customer success," stated Syd Phelan, Vice President of Professional Services for SERENA Software.

Availability and Pricing

Change Man CBT will be available in July of 1999. Prices range from $100-$250 per trainee, based on the number of trainees involved.
